Who's Responsible for What?

It can be confusing who is responsible for what in the village - is it the Parish Council or North Yorkshire County council?

In accordance with the North Yorkshire (Structural Changes) Order 2022, from 1 April 2023 the North Yorkshire Council will be the sole principal authority for North Yorkshire. The relevant predecessor district and borough councils (consisting of Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Selby and Scarborough) have been merged into one.

Since North Yorkshire Council was made into one Council, the responsibilities for the former Craven Council have been taken over by North Yorks Council. A new document identifying who is responsible for what has been created to reflect this.
