Who's Responsible for What?
It can be confusing who is responsible for what in the village - is it the Parish, District or County council?
Since North Yorkshire Council was made into one Council the responsibilities document attached is out of date but has not been formally replaced. Details can however still be used as a basic guideline. District and County responsibilities are absorbed by North Yorks Council.
(In accordance with the North Yorkshire (Structural Changes) Order 2022, from 1 April 2023 the North Yorkshire Council will be the sole principal authority for North Yorkshire. The relevant predecessor district and borough councils (consisting of Craven, Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Selby and Scarborough) have been merged into one.
