PUBLIC MEETING re THE FLASHES PLANNING APPLICATION

THURS 28 NOVEMBER 6:30 pm

North Yorkshire Councillor Simon Myers has arranged a Public Meeting as above in the Village Institute so that he can explain the situation regarding the Planning Application of the Flashes to Hellifield residents, so that they can focus minds on good grounds for mounting an objection.

Collective energy switching

Message from Councillor Simon Myers: I am very keen to encourage residents to investigate how much they can save by signing up for ‘The Big Switch’ with NY Council. Previously this was only available in Scarborough and Ryedale, but is now being rolled out County wide.

I would be grateful if you could get the message out there. It is no obligation to get a quote and experience in the former Districts shows a saving for all participants. And the supplies are 100% derived from renewables.

The cut off date is the 9th December.

Collective energy switching in the North Yorkshire Council area

Sign up and find out how much you could save on your household energy bills.

Working with iChoosr, we combine the purchasing power of thousands of households. Energy suppliers compete for your custom, often with bespoke and market-leading tariffs not available direct or via price comparison services.

Signing up online along with thousands of others is simple and there is no obligation. Together you form a large group and iChoosr holds an auction on behalf of the group. After the auction, you decide whether to accept the offer from the winning supplier. iChoosr arranges everything for you.

Keep North Yorkshire Clean

August 2024 : North Yorkshire Council’s new campaign Keep North Yorkshire Clean is encouraging visitors and residents to dispose of their rubbish responsibly. The council is working with parish and town councils to display new weatherproof anti-littering posters in areas where litter is an issue. The posters will also be going up in laybys, green spaces and other areas to remind people to do the right thing - take their rubbish home or put it in the bin. The campaign is aimed at generating a debate about the issue of littering and the impact it has on communities. It features common terms using the Yorkshire dialect including ‘gerrit in’t bin’, ‘take yer litter home, ta’ ‘keep t’ place spick and span, ta’ and ‘keep t’ place clean as a whistle ta’. Road users will also be reminded not to litter from vehicles as the campaign includes anti-littering messages on car parking tickets, on petrol pump nozzles, at services stations and on buses operating across North Yorkshire.
